Introducing: The New Cherry-Coloured Voutilainen KV20i Reversed in Titanium
Bold colours have firmly established their place in high horology, with trends evolving nearly as swiftly as in fashion. Among these, a rich cherry red remains refreshingly unique – perhaps why Voutilainen’s atelier chose it to set apart the latest edition of the KV20i Reversed with its remarkable inverted movement. This cherry-themed model contrasts with the blue KV20i Reversed unveiled earlier this year and is now featuring the intricate hand-guilloché detailing that has become a Voutilainen hallmark and was offered as an option at launch. We’re happy to introduce this exquisite new version to you.
The technical specifications and overall design of the KV20i Reversed Cherry remain consistent with the previous edition. It features a fully polished 39mm titanium case with a concave bezel, signature soldered teardrop lugs, a flat, fluted crown with a polished top, and an exhibition caseback secured by six custom screws.
The dial of the KV20i Reversed Cherry showcases Voutilainen’s in-house KV20i calibre, bringing components traditionally hidden at the back to the forefront. Each element of this masterfully crafted calibre invites admiration – from the frosted German silver bridges and polished screw heads to the flat wheels and pinions, not forgetting the bevelling. Some features truly stand out, such as the oversized 13.5mm free-sprung balance wheel with rose gold timing weights and the two large, blued escape wheels that drive the signature direct impulse escapement.
Encircling the dial is a cherry-coloured minutes ring, adorned with polished gold dots at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock and marked with the brand name at the top. The central hour and minute hands, crafted in gold and finished with distinctive blue rings at their ends, hint at a fun thought – whether a cherry-coloured version of the rings was ever considered.
The transparent caseback displays the back of the inverted movement, with the screwed cherry-coloured ring adorned with the hand-guilloché pattern and bearing a plaque with the model name and number. On the upper left, the cherry dial for the running seconds features a different guilloché pattern decoration in the middle and a dotted ring marked with double digits at 5-second intervals. The manually wound calibre KV20i is built with 31 jewels, operates at 18,000 vibrations/hour and has a 60-hour power reserve.
The watch is paired with the hand-sewn cherry-coloured fabric strap. It is priced at CHF 124,800, excluding taxes. For more, visit www.voutilainen.ch.
